The Longevity Science Foundation Announces Leadership Transition
OCTOBER 1, 2024 — MIAMI — The Longevity Science Foundation (LSF), a global nonprofit organization providing research funding to establish a longer and healthier human lifespan, announced that Lisa E. Ireland, President and CEO, will be stepping down from her role. Lisa, who has been at the helm since October of 2022, will be leaving after positioning the organization as a key player in the longevity and the broader biotech space. The board of directors has appointed Joshua C. Herring as the new President & CEO, effective October 1, 2024.
Under Lisa's leadership, Longevity Science Foundation expanded its network and established a robust foundational framework for its activities. As a nonprofit veteran, Lisa ensured that the organization’s mission and operations were fully aligned with regulatory frameworks and nonprofit best practices. She was instrumental in forging key strategic alliances, establishing the LSF as a recognized voice within the industry. Among her notable achievements was securing the organization’s first academic partnership with King’s College London (KCL). In her effort to improve information accessibility on aging research and longevity medicine, Lisa represented the organization at conferences and events across the U.S. and internationally. Her public engagements included the keynote address at the U.S. Library of Congress in February 2024 , where she spoke on the intersection of neural health and longevity, emphasizing the importance of longevity research for the future of public health and aging populations

Joshua C. Herring, who brings extensive leadership experience from financial services and business development, is excited to step into this role. Joshua is committed to building upon the groundwork that Lisa laid out and driving the organization to new milestones, helping promote early-stage research on human healthspan.
