“As a longevity physician, my goal is to keep steady, or even improve, the quality of life. The fun has to be there – life is about more than just living longer – but a fun and fulfilling life can be healthy too. I’d also add that it is essential in longevity medicine to focus on physical health as well as behavioural and mental health. All pieces together make a healthy human.”
The good news is that we are not alone in this goal. Since 2013, more and more activities related to the United Nations International Day of Older Persons have recognised this as well, and now October 1 is also recognised as International Longevity Day, which kicks off what we in the field know now as “Longevity Month.”
At the Longevity Science Foundation, our mission is to promote healthy human longevity. So we are excited for a month to highlight the incredible research that is being done in this field.
We’re celebrating by bringing even more longevity information directly to you. This month and through the end of the year, we’ll share updates on the advances we have supported through our investments in new technology and medical breakthroughs. We will highlight members of our Visionary Board - longevity pioneers in their own right. And we will look back on our first year and how we plan to do even more in our second year to bring $1 billion in donations to research, institutions, and projects promoting healthy human longevity.
