Event Recap: Invested in Her NYC

On Friday, 8/14, the Longevity Science Foundation gathered individuals across various industries at 7 World Trade Center in New York City for Invested in Her, our event centered around women's health & longevity.

We successfully united investors, clinicians, researchers, founders, philanthropists, advocates, and other leaders working across healthcare and industry. Through personal stories, presentations, panel discussions, and networking, we explored the challenges facing women's health and the opportunities to create meaningful change.
Program

Following our CEO, Joshua Herring, opening up the afternoon by sharing what it means to be "Invested in Her", Patricia Silverstein (CEO, Silverstein Dream Foundation) shared her personal story of moving from marketing to healthcare. Panels and presentations followed, dissecting what it will take to drive meaningful change across the women's health landscape, the intersection of health, wealth, and career, and the challenges of funding the underrepresented. Nim Singh Dua discussed what migraine can reveal about women's brain health and longevity. Oriana Papin-Zoghbi presented AOA Dx's work on early ovarian cancer detection, and Casey Albert joined Joshua Herring for a conversation on venture capital and innovation in women's health.

The program also highlighted companies working directly across women's health and longevity, bringing the discussion closer to the research, technologies, and services being developed today.

Feedback

We asked attendees what women's health meant to them, and the responses were one of the most valuable takeaways from the day. One person wrote: "Human health. Period. We are half the population, birth the other half, and desperately need a better understanding of disease and aging pathways for all of us." Another described care that "is not about band-aids but about figuring out the puzzle pieces to get to the root of what's happening with her body."

Someone answered with a single word: "Survival."

The themes that ran through the responses were personalized whole-body care, education that arrives early enough to matter, and equitable inclusion in the studies and funding that shape treatment.

We also asked about the biggest barriers to progress. Healthcare system design and lack of research funding led the room – the answer to us is clear: we need to continue doing our part in funding holistic women's health research to create equitable solutions for every woman.
